THE HAGUE, NETHERLANDS–The Dutch software and hardware developer for security applications, X-Surveillance, has launched a new body camera that takes the form of a handheld walkie-talkie. The DS300 body camera is patent-pending and is designed to replace the push-to-talk mic police officers use to communicate.
The camera has a talk button on one side and a record button on the other, has an automatic infrared function for filming in the dark, is drop, shock and water resistant and on its back has a 1.5" LCD monitor for playback of recorded events.
DS300 has a 16 mega pixel camera resolution, records video in 1080p or 720p with 30 frames per second in AVI format and up to 10 hours. The body camera also has an optional function that stores and saves GPS location and embeds the longitude and latitude coordinates onto the video file.
The DS300 can be pre-ordered immediately here.
