Norway-based projectiondesign has released its new X-PORT modular based front and back-end connectivity extensions, offering connectivity and image processing options as well as future upgrades and custom display system configuration.
The modules are designed for use with the new F35, FL35 and F85 series projectors using the company’s Magnesium electronics platform. The F35 and FL35 series X-PORT modules are available now, and the F85 will ship in December.
X-PORT fulfills users’ requirements for connectivity and processing as a complement to standard connectivity and are designed to suit individual installation needs, said Anders Løkke, projectiondesign’s marketing director.
The extension enables connectivity to and from current and future formats, as well as supplemental image processing by plugging onto the back of the projector, the company says. The connectivity extensions are available as either a DCC120 Dual Channel Combiner or a 3G-SDI interface.
The DCC120 works as an image processor and frame rate converter, and the company says it can transform discrete passive 3D stereo to active, as well as frame convert input signal or combination of signals to sequential 120Hz, for applications with fast moving objects or 3D stereo visualization.
The 3G-SDI is compatible with both high-bandwidth 3G SDI, as well as standard SDI for cable lengths reaching nearly 300 yards, projectiondesign says. It can also be combined with the DCC120 to enable active stereo 3G-SDI, according to the company
