SAN FRANCISCO—The Presidio National Park in San Francisco has a brand new welcoming mat for its visitors, as it has concluded a three-year project to turn its former guardhouse into its new Visitor Center, including AV support from WorldStage San Francisco.
The new Visitor Center provides a look at San Francisco’s history, culture and natural heritage in two main rooms, though the visitor experience begins on the guardhouse porch. WorldStage installed ceiling speakers on the porch for looping audio of Reveille and sounds of marching soldiers.
In the first room there is a 3D model map of the park and a Dashboard videowall that presents up-to-date visitor information as well as a short looping video of the park’s vistas; WorldStage installed and configured the Dashboard system.
The second room features two 84-inch MMT touchables from WorldStage that provide an interactive surface, where visitors can open up text and pictures offering historical reference to the Presidio. In addition, WorldStage provided additional audio support for the Provost Office and audio and video gear for the program area.
The Visitor Center has a two-year contract with WorldStage to maintain the AV systems.
