The Volicon Observer captures, stores, and indexes broadcast content from multiple channels, offering users simultaneous, 24/7 access to video from their desktop computers. Volicon is among several technology companies showing their latest at DigitalVision 2010 Summer, a free virtual trade show produced by the NAB Show and NewBay Media.

Newly developed capabilities of the Observer include a new streamlined user interface supporting both Windows and Mac; support for Internet Explorer, Safari, Chrome, and Firefox; and integrated export functionality to H.264, Flash, MPEG-2, or MPEG-4.

Volicon Observer Pro Observer Professional?
Designed for budget-conscious television stations and organizations that require simplified media monitoring, Observer Pro includes an intuitive user interface for Mac and PC platforms, with quick and easy scheduling, recording, and enhanced searching with auto-complete technology on key media mentions in the video stream. The optional Electronic Programming Guide (EPG)-based Scheduled Recording Module enables selective recording of specific channels. It supports up to four channels of SD or one single channel of HD, supporting 10 concurrent users (with expansion to 25), and offers up to 90 days of storage for archived video.

Observer Enterprise
?Observer Enterprise is a fully redundant, enterprise-grade, 24x7 automated record and search appliance targeted to broadcasting networks for media monitoring and compliance workflows. It offers a range of intuitive features to automate manual monitoring tasks to save valuable time and resources. Users can choose between the streamlined or enterprise-level user interface, and the system offers enhanced searching capabilities that include new auto-complete technology to help find closed-caption text more quickly.

It includes integrated Nielsen Ratings for side-by-side competitive analysis based on viewership, and also supports Volicon's optional Content Matching and Producer Modules for audio fingerprinting and content repurposing workflows. The system supports monitoring of unlimited channels and unlimited user access, inputs for analog, SDI, and HD-SDI sources, and up to two years of storage.

Observer RPM
?Observer RPM (Remote Program Monitor) provides quality-of-experience monitoring for IPTV, MSOs, independent cable operators, and satellite operators who need to evaluate NOC/headend and remote hubsite broadcasts automatically from a central location. It's a post set-top box solution that scans hundreds of channels around the clock and automatically tests signal integrity, issues alerts (via e-mail and SNMP), and captures the problematic content when channels do not conform to prespecified limits.
