Vitec Videocom to Acquire Autocue

Prompter specialist Autocue brought into Vitec Videocom fold.

Bury St Edmunds, U.K. –Vitec Videocom, a division of Vitec Group plc, recently reached a conditional agreement to acquire Autocue. In addition to this impending acquisition of Autocue, Vitec Videocom recently bought with several other well-known manufacturers in the video/film industry, including Petrol, OConnor, Litepanels, Anton/Bauer and Sachtler.

Autocue, established in 1955 and a manufacturer of teleprompting hardware and software products, join Vitec Videocom’s portfolio of products for the broadcast, pro-videography, corporate and public sectors. With the acquisition of Autocue, Vitec Videocom will be able to supply just about everything necessary for a professional video shoot besides cameras and lenses. The company had previously acquired Autoscript, another prompter specialist.

The acquisition will enhance FLIR's multi-sensor systems for military customers and expand its security and surveillance product offerings to commercial customers.
