Eying global enterprises with a need for on-demand rich-media IP distribution systems, VBrick last week unveiled its VBrick Enterprise Media System (VEMS).
One view of VEMS VEMS is a complete integrated hardware and software system for distributing live or on-demand video and uses advanced bandwidth optimization to intelligently route users to the best location to receive video content, without impacting the performance of other networked applications. VBrick says the intuitive user interface and advanced search capabilities combine to form a complete video management system that can scale to tens of thousands of concurrent users across the enterprise.
Vodafone, one of the largest mobile telecommunications companies in the world, is experiencing VEMS. “As a mobile industry innovator that for more than 20 years has continuously transformed global communications, we pride ourselves on using the most advanced communications technologies to manage highly effective and profitable internal operations,” said Armin Hessler, head of customer and IT service operations at Vodafone. “Only VBrick could offer an end-to-end solution to enable our teams to use high-impact IP video streaming to more effectively communicate across a vast network of 79,000 employees and offices in 27 countries on five continents.”
VEMS now also includes a plug-in for IBM Lotus Sametime, allowing enterprise users to seamlessly integrate video with IBM’s flagship unified communications tool—from instant messaging and telephony to email and Web conferencing—and easily manage the content and distribution with VEMS. Now, without leaving the Sametime client, users can search and view live and on-demand video and rich media presentations, share content with their contacts and chat with content creators. The Sametime plug-in marks the first in a series of steps VBrick is taking to link IP video streaming with enterprise-class unified communications platforms.
“The launch of VEMS significantly advances our unified communications capabilities and establishes IP video streaming at the forefront of enterprise collaboration strategies,” said Vince Graziani, VBrick CEO. “With VEMS we’ve created the only solution on the market that makes IP video streaming simple to manage, easy to integrate with other collaboration technologies and able to scale to meet the needs of the largest enterprise customers.”
