NEWARK, DE–A range of LiveU streaming equipment has been deployed by the University of Delaware for connecting live video of events and sports to the school’s website.
The LiveU LU600 portable transmission unit, a LiveU Extender antenna and multiple LiveU 2000 servers were chosen to support the University’s Media Services team, the group responsible for making live video productions on campus work. The team required a setup that could go anywhere, had minimal latency and was broadcast quality, says Carl Asti, director of the school’s IT-Media Services.
“We have embraced LiveU technology because it delivers immediacy and efficiency. By placing multiple servers in strategic locations around campus, we can cover and stream multiple events in a single day quickly without having to move and re-set a wired or RF based wireless systems,” said Asti.
The LiveU technology has found a recent use for outdoor events on campus and for streaming and recording special lectures in one of the 180 classrooms at the University, according to Asti.
The Media Services team is hosting the live streams about three to 15 times per month depending on the schedule. You can check those out here.
