Toshiba Surveillance & IP Video, a unit of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., unveils a new line of high-definition liquid crystal display (LCD) monitors that provide “clarity, depth and color purity” to video surveillance images.

Available in 19-inch (PL1930A) and 17-inch (PL1730A) models, the monitors address an increasing need for imaging excellence in video security applications, especially those deploying megapixel Internet protocol (IP) cameras, Toshiba says. Both of the ultra-thin LCDs take up minimal desk space, plus can be wall- or rack-mounted using standard Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) 100 mounts, helping to maximize productivity within the control room, the company says.

The monitors combine a stylish design with optimized features, including 1280 x 1024 HD resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio, 380cd/m2 brightness, and 1000:1 contrast ratio, the firm says. Both the 17-inch and 19-inch monitors are designed to match the connectivity requirements of professional standards by offering DVI-D input, BNC video interface, analog RGB (D-sub 15) input and audio in/out.
