Toshiba Offers ‘Cheat Sheet’ of Recommended Configurations for Surveillance Cameras

The guide examines surveillance needs of small, medium, large installations

Toshiba Surveillance & IP Video Products Group is offering installers and dealers of its video surveillance systems a “cheat sheet” of recommended configurations for its cameras, recorders and accessories for a variety of video monitoring applications.
The guide examines the needs of small installations (eight cameras or less), medium installations (nine to 16 cameras) and large installation (16 or more cameras), says Toshiba, which adds the document is to ensure those systems are faster, more reliable and more profitable for those users.
The guide provides detailed surveillance solutions from both the IP and analog perspective, taking into account whether the cameras will be deployed indoors or outdoors, Toshiba says. Such a distinction is necessary because cameras mounted on the exterior of a building require specialized housings to protect their sensitive electronics from weather extremes, the company adds.
