The TIVA-DC Peer Awards is a merit-based award judged on the individual merits of the entry. TIVA-DC does not consider it a competition, but an acknowledgement and celebration of the work, as categories may result in multiple award-winners or in some cases categories without winners. Entrants include local media from D.C., Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and the Delaware region.

There are more than 80 award categories covering the production and skill areas for local media. High school students from D.C., Maryland and Virginia can also participate with the Peer Promise competition, with winners (and second and third place finishers) being announced during the Gala.

All winners will be announced during the ceremony, which will take place on Nov. 11 at 6:30 p.m., at the French Embassy in Washington.
