CHELMSFORD, MASS.—Central Florida’s Polk County Government TV provided a hand to its coverage of government meetings and studio productions with the installation of two Mica 1000 integrated production switchers from Broadcast Pix.
The first of the two Mica switchers was installed at the County Commission Boardroom to help with meeting coverage. Helping to control five Panasonic PTZ cameras, the Mica system helps produce about eight government meetings per month, including producing lower-thirds for agenda items with the switcher’s built-in CG. The switcher also has an input that is shared between the room’s document camera and computer input, plus two additional inputs that can be used for inputs from the production studio or the field routed through master control.
PGTV’s second Mica anchors the station’s three-camera studio, providing production assistance for about a dozen different local shows. With the BPView, Mica’s integrated Multiview, different producers can customize their work area.
The Mica production switchers were installed at PGTV in March.
