The city of Columbia, Mo., wanted to educate visitors about what the region offered as a business and leisure destination with some signage that was engaging and memorable, yet simple for the city to manage.

Photo by Brad Noblitt Photography LLC The solution, furnished by Professional Video Supply, was X2O Media’s Xpresenter Xe, an all-in-one, single-player digital signage system. PVS installed one Xe system in the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, another at the Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau as part of a lobby renovation project, and a third system at the Columbia Regional Airport.
Xe delivers better-than-broadcast-quality output while its easy-to-use configuration screen lets users personalize parameters to quickly produce a completely customized display. Point-and-click content management tools allow day-to-day updates to the on-screen content to be made quickly and easily via a Web-based control screen. Xe includes a number of links to live data sources such as news and local weather to keep content constantly refreshed.
“Our X2O Media Xpresenter Xe system has become a fantastic feature in our newly remodeled lobby. Visitors to the building often compliment us on the great information and the beautiful display,” said Megan McConachie, Web and communication manager at the Columbia CVB. “As far as managing the system, we find uploading new information as easy as creating a new PowerPoint slide. It allows us to create a custom look for our visitor information that integrates seamlessly with the other feeds on the screen. The end result is a dynamic display that gives Columbia visitors another way to gather information and experience our great city.”
