Search-and-Rescue Organization Files Suit to Allow UAV Use

The Federal Aviation Administration has looked with disfavor on the use of video-enabled remote-controlled aircraft within the U.S., going as far as telling users that they can't hire out UAV's for use in video/film production and other commercial activities. When the FAA questioned the use of UAVs by a non-profit search-and-rescue organization, the group decided to file a lawsuit in the Washington (DC) District Court to force the FAA to clarify its UAV policies.
