Sarnoff Corp. debuted a low-cost (less than $4,000) video software solution that transforms shaky, blurry, overly dark or bright, and low-resolution video footage into sharper, clearer images.
ResolvR brings out the detail in low-quality images.
The tool could be handy for any video producers or investigators wanting a better few of news footage, cell phone video or any low-quality or defective video.
“Now any professional or prosumer can transform dark, dingy, or distorted video into a clearer and usable product without breaking their budget,” said Mark Clifton, vice president for Products and Services at Sarnoff.
Video ResolvR offers users six powerful video processing features to clarify and accentuate even small, hidden details: Image Stabilization, using advanced de-interlacing technology; Contrast Normalization, correcting for poor lighting; Image Enhancement allowing extreme enhancement of a still frame or video sequence by automatically scanning multiple surrounding frames and layering the best of each onto one picture to add back lost detail; Edge Finding, allows users to find precise parameters of any objects within a frame; Embossing, providing an image with a 3D raised effect; and Mosaicking, stitching together sequences of panoramic stills from panned motion video up to 360 degrees into one image.
For those with real-time stabilization needs, Video ResolvR can also be purchased as part of Video Detective, Sarnoff’s real-time video forensics analysis system solution, which pairs Video ResolvR software with a ruggedized laptop and the Acadia vision processor PCI board.
