Persian Gulf region broadcast and communications systems integrator Salam Media Cast has changed its name to Media Group International and it plans to exhibit under its new name for the first time at Cabsat 2013, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which is scheduled for March 12-14.
Paul Hennessy will remain as CEO of the rebranded company that is headquartered in Doha, Qatar. “Our name change to Media Group International reflects the company’s ambition to stay relevant for our customers internationally, offering exciting IT, telecommunications and broadcast access more widely throughout Europe, Middle East and Africa,” Hennessey says.
The company is increasingly working with broadcast media companies utilizing the IT and telecommunication networks to deliver content internationally, Hennessy adds.
In addition, MGI plans to team up with other companies to ensure turnkey solutions are provided to MGI clients, according to the company. For example, the firm partnered with HoloVis International in October 2012 to provide 2D and 3D immersive systems technology, which includes virtual reality “cave automatic virtual environments” and walls, large scale theatres and domes as well as next-generation motion base/platform technology and simulators. That enables the company to “create transformational sensory experiences” for customers, the firm says.
