Roland Systems Group is shipping the Roland VR-3 AV Mixer, a fully integrated audio mixer and video switcher for live production and web streaming.

The VR-3 combines Roland’s audio and video technology into one unit and expands the growing lineup of the company’s audiovisual mixers and streaming-ready solutions, Roland says.

The VR-3 weighs less than five pounds and can be powered by the provided power supply or by external battery, and its touch screen interface provides an easy way to switch video sources as well as to efficiently access menus, the firm says. Recommended uses of the VR-3 are for schools, churches, council meetings, corporate events, sporting events, memorial services or for production live to the web.

Similar to Roland’s VR-5, the VR-3’s “all-in-one” design simplifies production and streaming of live events. The VR-3’s design incorporates a video switcher, audio mixer, preview monitors and streaming-ready USB output all in a single unit, the company says. As a USB Video/Audio class device, web streaming is made effortless by simply connecting to a computer running a live streaming service such as USTREAM, Livestream, Stickam, Justin.tv, websharelive.com and many more streaming services, the firm says. The reduction in hardware equipment, setup time and connection complexity ensures a worry-free, easy to use solution for any event, Roland says.
