Roland Systems Group, which supplies audiovisual industries with equipment, introduced the VC-1-SC Video Converter as part of the VC-1 Series.
The VC-1-SC is an up/down/cross scan converter to SDI/HDMI with frame sync that provides live/post production and installed systems with video and audio converters, Roland says.
Video devices that accept digital signals such as serial-digital interface and high-definition multimedia interface, have become more common in live production making video conversion essential, according to Roland.
The VC-1-SC is intended for live production, during which users need analog or digital sources to match SDI and/or HDMI video format, aspect ratio or input type, the company says. The converter supports a variety of configurations for both live production and installed applications.
In addition, the VC-1-SC maintains the video characteristics of the original signals, and the unit also features an on-board re-clocker to compensate for attenuation of SDI signals enabling longer distance runs, according to the company.
The VC-1-SC supports both level A and B 3G-SDI, according to Roland. Selectable audio embedding and de-embedding enables users to route different audio sources to or from video devices, the company says. It also accepts RGB/component and composite inputs, according to Roland.
