Panasonic Solutions Company unveiled the AW-HE120, a pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) camera that features a fast 20X zoom lens and three 2.2 megapixel metal-oxide semiconductor (MOS) imagers supporting full high-definition (HD) video capture.
The AW-HE120 is suited for such demanding applications as sports, staging, houses of worship, news and government video, Panasonic says. The HE120 is equipped with the same high-performance sensors and digital signal processor used in Panasonic’s broadcast camcorders, and has a signal to noise ratio pushing 60dB and 1000 television lines of resolution. It also has such advanced features as 16-axis color correction and Panasonic’s exclusive dynamic range stretch.
In addition, both HD and standard definition (SD)-serial digital interface (SDI) and high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) outputs are standard equipment with the HE120, as well as analog component and SD composite, the company says. It is a versatile multi-standard camera, delivering many international HD and SD video signal formats including: 1080/59.94p [HDMI only], 1080/59.94i, 720/59.94p, 480/59.94p [HDMI only], 480/59.94i, 1080/50p [HDMI only], 1080/50i, 720/50p, 575/50p [HDMI only] and 576/50i.
The HE120 preserves RS-422 serial compatibility with controllers designed for use with the previous generation of Panasonic remote camera systems, and it supports both direct and web-based Internet protocol (IP) remote control. Direct IP control is possible using Panasonic’s innovative AW-RP50N, as well as appropriately programmed systems from Crestron, AMX and other manufacturers. In addition, the camera’s built-in web-server enables secure control and setup from browser-equipped personal computers, Panasonic says.
