Panasonic Debuts New Handheld Camcorder

NEWARK, NJ–Panasonic has introduced the AG-AC30 AVCHD handheld camcorder. Features include a 20X optical zoom, a wide-angle 29.5mm lens, an LED light, two-channel XLR audio inputs and simultaneous record or relay record with hot swap, all while shooting at a Full HD 1080p resolution.

The AC30 has two SD card slots that can record on both cards simultaneously, and features Relay Auto Switch function for back-up recording or the ability to switch from one card to the other and records in AVCHD to 28Mbps and MP4/MOV to 50Mbps.

In addition to an auto-focus, the AC30 also includes a three-ring manual lens for precise control of the camera’s focus, zoom and iris. The AC30 is equipped with a new 0.24-inch, 1.55 million-dot electronic view-finder, which can be tilted, and a three-inch, slide-retractable LCD monitor provides for an alternate view.

Microphones with a +48V phantom power supply can be hooked into the two-channel XLR audio inputs and a have an output of +4dB. Professional assist functions include a histogram display, color bar monitor and zebra pattern.
