Panasonic Corp., a provider of digital-video products, acquired Cameramanager.com, a cloud-based provider of video surveillance as-a-service in Europe, which Panasonic said reinforces its existing security business and enables it to extend its cloud-based solutions to the business and consumer markets.

“This acquisition is an important strategic step towards enhancing our smart and connected services offering in the European and CIS market,” said Laurent Abadie, Panasonic Europe’s chairman and CEO. “With Cameramanager.com’s bespoke software and cloud-based solutions complementing our existing security business, we will be able to significantly enhance our presence in this space by bringing together technical know-how and software skills and equipping us with the necessary assets to respond to future demands in cloud services,” he said.

In addition, the acquisition of Camermanager.com by Panasonic can access “a wider market” for cloud-based surveillance, said Rishi Lodhia, Cameramanager.com’s CEO. “We’re delighted to join a company that will continue to support the innovative culture that is the foundation of our business, and together we remain committed to delivering excellence in online security,” he said.
