Rapiscan Systems, the security division of OSI Systems, Inc.—a provider of specialized electronics and services—has been awarded a $7 million contract for the servicing and maintenance of several Rapiscan inspection platforms, including baggage and parcel inspection systems, and cargo and vehicle inspection systems.
The orders are in support of U.S. Government security and defense programs, OSI Systems, which is headquartered in Hawthorne, Calif., says in a written statement.
Deepak Chopra, OSI Systems president and CEO, said, the contract “recognize(s) our capabilities to provide full life cycle service and support to our customers, many of whom utilize our products in very harsh environments. Rapiscan's global service network can provide a range of service options for depot or field maintenance of our broad screening system portfolio.”
Rapiscan Systems says it operates a 24-hours-per-day, seven-days-pre-week global service and support team that provides expert support to customers, from pre-installation operations analysis, to operator training, to installation and on-going maintenance.

It will be easier for Bosch's customers to include systems from across the company's portfolio.
