Matys Satcom Ltd. says its LP-90 low profile phased array Ku-Band VSAT antenna system will provide high-performance broadband connectivity to defense, homeland security and commercial land vehicles on the move as well as vessels at sea.

The LP-90—which was launched on March 3, 2011—is an innovative “satellite-on-the-move” (SOTM) communications solution, Matys Satcom says in a written statement. The antenna system has several distinct advantages including a flat panel phased array technology and an innovative design of the antenna system that makes for a light weight and compact antenna that is competitive in functionality to large, dish-based satellite antennas. Utilizing a minimal number of mechanical moving parts, the system is extremely robust and well-suited to military standards, Matys says.

“Our new LP-90 antenna system is a highly reliable alternative to terrestrial based communications systems, with competitive input and output data rates,” said Udi Erell, Matys Satcom’s managing director. “As such, it is an excellent solution for applications such as emergency response, border control and military communications, enabling the delivery of 2-way fast and reliable critical real-time data while on the move,” he said.
