Wegener Corp. is coming to the 2009 NAB Show with new products for IP management of video for digital signage, corporate communications and other media.
Wegener iPump 525
The company’s iPump 525 media player is part of a solution for video services that require customization on a site-by-site or regional basis. The player supports live and file-based standard-definition and HD video, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 (H.264) video with overlays.
With the iPump 525’s overlay feature, all video playout from the iPump 525 can be augmented with graphics and text. This makes it simple to immediately update hundreds of displays with time-sensitive information—new, ads or horse racing odds—in static, scroll or crawl formats.
The iPump 525 can be used in conjunction with CompelConnect.com, a new Wegener software-as-a-service (SaaS) that provides user-friendly management tools for content distribution, scheduling, playout control, and continuous monitoring of iPump media receivers/players.
The combination provides a solution for small to mid-sized video networks looking for flexible and visually compelling presentation of information.
“With CompelConnect.com, Wegener is offering an easy to use, Internet-based solution to control information portals within faith-based organizations, retail outlets, corporations, educational institutions and gaming entities,” said Ned L. Mountain, Wegener president and chief operating officer. “This represents a dramatic business shift for Wegener. During these challenging economic times, Wegener is responding with scalable ways to launch small or medium-sized private networks while fulfilling our commitment to help clients distribute relevant content to each site in their networks.”
Users have access to a full-featured remote network control system, with enhanced support for multiple users per network. Additional benefits include Wegener technical support, file backup of data archives, and free automatic software updates. CompelConnect.com is compatible with all Wegener iPump media servers and players.
