Matrox Video, a producer of audiovisual signal conversion products, says its Matrox Convert DVI Plus HD-SDI scan converter — equipped with “genlock” and “region-of-interest” functions — is now available.
Matrox Convert DVI Plus enables broadcasters to incorporate content from computers, iPads and iPhones into broadcast programs, according to Matrox. The unit can also be used to drive projectors and large displays at live events, the company says.
In addition, the Matrox Convert DVI Plus is designed to create broadcast-quality video from c
omputer applications such as Skype, YouTube, Google Earth, FaceTime, ProPresenter, PowerPoint and web browsers, Matrox says.
The unit can be genlocked to an SD analog black burst (bi-level) or HD tri-level genlock source to compensate for cable delays within a facility, Matrox says. The region-of-interest feature enables users to output content at the broadcast resolution needed for a specific region, the company says. And the unit’s “proc amp” controls enable the user to adjust the hue, chroma, saturation and brightness levels, according to Matrox.
“Convert DVI Plus has been field proven in demanding broadcast and live production environments around the world over the last two years,” said Daniel Maloney, Matrx’s technical marketing manager. “Users appreciate its high-quality output and scaling that lets them seamlessly incorporate computer content into their video productions as well as the advanced features, ease of use and reliability they have come to expect from Matrox products.”
