CHANTILLY, Va. — The Interagency Visual Media Group (IVMG) is holding its annual meeting on Thursday, October 15, 2015, at Waterford Receptions in Springfield, Va.

This one-day event brings in commercial media professionals from around the country to share the latest in media tools, trends, and best practices with their government counterparts. The theme for this year’s gathering is “Connect,” and the event will focus on interagency collaboration, networking across a variety of media fields, and educating IVMG members in the latest technology and trends. Attendees can choose from almost two dozen breakout sessions on topics such as video and gaming, web development workflow, interviewing techniques, and visual note-taking.

IVMG is a forum for visual media professionals working in the Intelligence and Defense communities to collaborate and share ideas, technical information and production techniques in video, photography, graphic design, motion media, web development, cartography, publications, and more. Founded in 2007, IVMG is the only such group for media professionals working in support of the national security mission.

In addition to this annual meeting, IVMG also hosts smaller working groups, and sponsors the annual Intelligence Community Media Excellence (ICy) awards. IVMG events are free and open to government civilian, military and contract visual media professionals who support national security organizations.
