Washington, D.C.-based production and post-production company Interface Media Group is getting a big boost in its production capabilities with the acquisition of Alexandria Productions, located across the Potomac.
??Founded in 1995, Alexandria produced hundreds of hours of nonfiction programming for NBC, PBS, Discovery, TLC, National Geographic, TBS and others.
Alexandria Founder and President Joel Westbrook is joining IMG as executive producer, overseeing original production, co-production and multi-platform projects.
Westbrook ”brings a breadth and depth of creative experience to our established production capabilities,” said IMG President Jeff Weingarten. “Having Joel as part of our team makes us more valuable as a co-production partner as well as a developer of original content. This acquisition positions us to be more involved, working with our clients’ projects earlier in the process, increasing our contribution to their successes.”
Located in downtown Washington, IMG services include script-to-screen creative development; location and studio production and transmission services; creative editorial; high-definition editing and compositing; design, graphics and animation; sound design and audio production; high-definition color enhancement; duplication and distribution; Website creative design and development; streaming and Webcasting.
?Prior to founding Alexandria Productions, Westbrook was senior vice president and executive producer at Time Life Television and Video and prior to that was executive vice president of Turner Productions. His productions have won numerous awards including a Primetime Emmy.?
