IDO Security, Inc., the developer of the MagShoe shoe-scanning device, plans to present—in Thailand—the new MagShoe 3G and 3G/4 models to potential governmental and private industry clients, the firm says in a written statement.

IDO, a multinational corporation with its headquarters in New York City, has engaged Law Enforcement Technology Solutions as its agent in Thailand to oversee the MagShoe demonstrations for clients who have indicated an interest in the technology.

Thailand is the second Asian country, following China, in which IDO is actively promoting the new MagShoe 3G, says Dani Werber, IDO’s international marketing manager. There is interest from both the homeland security and loss prevention sectors to increase security measures in Thailand, and the MagShoe might complement existing security devices providing screening that is non-invasive and convenient to use, he said.

MagShoe’s “shoes-on” design maximizes security, thoroughness and accuracy while eliminating the need to remove shoes for increased convenience and safety, the company says. In addition, the MagShoe is neither invasive nor harmful to the body as are some of the other screening devices currently in use. MagShoe is an effective security and loss prevention tool, and is deployed at international airports, cruise lines, government agencies and more, IDO says.

Based on the early interest, IDO believes the MagShoe will be placed in multiple locations in Thailand by mid-year, Werber added.
