Hot New Panasonic AVCCAM Info Coming to GV Expo

Emmy-nominated Bernie Mitchell, president of Silver Platter Productions, will take a look at the latest AVCCAM gear including the new dual-use AG-HMC40 handheld camcorder, the AG-HMR10 recorder and the AG-HCK10 camera head.

Panasonic's AVCCAM series brings the benefits of solid-state HD recording to budget-conscious professionals with a range of affordable cameras and recorders using inexpensive SD/SDHC cards.

AG-HMR10 recorder/player and AG-HCK10 camera head At Government Video Expo (Dec. 1-3 in Washington), Emmy-nominated producer, director, writer and editor Bernie Mitchell, president of Silver Platter Productions, will take a look at the latest AVCCAM gear including the new dual-use AG-HMC40 handheld camcorder, the AG-HMR10 recorder and the AG-HCK10 camera head.

The AG-HMC40 handheld camcorder captures 10.6-megapixel still photos The AG-HMR10 compact recorder and pocket-sized AG-HCK10 camera head bring high-quality HD video at a low bit-rate in a very small form, making the system ideal for applications from long-term surveillance to the documentation of military missions.

The presentation is Weds., Dec. 2, from 12:45 to 1:15 p.m. in the Presentation Theater at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

Mitchell is a Multimedia "Person of the Year," and a DVD Association Hall of Fame member. His experience includes overall responsibility for the launch of a global high-definition television, radio and Web network, writing a book and running his own marketing consulting and multimedia production company

Mitchell also serves as consultant for Panasonic Broadcast for its solid-state P2 HD and AVCCAM series.

He covered the 2007 Iditarod Sled Dog Race, shooting in HD on the trail from Anchorage to Nome, in minus 67 degrees. Previously, Mitchell was the senior producer/director for iPIX Movies, an immersive Internet and DVD experience. Bernie produced and directed "Atlantis: Once Upon A Time," the first iPIX Movie to be streamed over the internet.

Mitchell also created and posted daily immersive images from the Sydney 2000 Olympics and the Burning Man festival in Nevada. He graduated from UCLA Film School, and created his own multimedia company, way back in 1979.
