Hisilicon, which provides solutions for communication network and digital media,has integrated into its latest surveillance camera processors an image signal processor (ISP) core produced by Apical, a provider of imaging technology for cameras and displays.
Hisilicon’s Hi3516 is a system-on-chip (SoC) device that combines a powerful ARM core, a video encoder subsystem and an imaging subsystem based on Apical's latest-generation ISP core. The Hi3516 delivers full HD video at 30fps and supports sensors up to 16-megapixel resolution.
Apical’s ISP cores combine high-performance image processing at low power with native support of high dynamic range capture technology. This combination addresses the central requirements of the emerging surveillance IP camera market, according to the company.
“In designing our new generation of surveillance camera processors, we recognized that the ISP is one of the most important parts of the system,” Says Mr Yangfengguo, Hisilicon surveillance PL’s director.
