StopBullying.gov is an official U.S. government website managed by the Departments of Health & Human Services and Justice to provide help to those being victimized by bullying. Bullying is a widespread and serious problem that can happen anywhere. The website makes clear that bullying is not a phase children have to go through, it is not “just messing around,” and it is not something to grow out of. Bullying can cause serious and lasting harm.

The website says Bullying can take many forms including name calling and teasing; spreading rumors; leaving people out on purpose; breaking up friendships; hitting, punching, shoving; and cyberbullying, or using the Internet, mobile phones or other digital technologies to harm others. And it provides actions that can help those being victimized including for youngsters, teens and young adults.

For providing information on bullying to help those who are the targets of bullies, StopBullying.gov is Government Video’s Website of the Week.
