Pro vs. GI Joe uses the Internet and the best of today's modern technology to simultaneously make virtual connections via video games and webcams across the planet with the goal of boosting morale among active duty military personnel.
However, Pro vs. GI Joe does not just provide access to video games; rather, it sets up real-time video game competitions between professional athletes, musicians, celebrities, high-ranking military officials and politicians located in the United States with troops stationed overseas. To date, Pro Vs. GI Joe has connected athletes to troops serving in Afghanistan, Dubai, Germany, Iraq, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Qatar and those stationed at various bases around the United States.
In addition, whenever possible the organization reunites family members of the participating troops via webcam during a Pro vs. GI Joe event. For using the Internet to provide active duty service personnel with some much-needed recreation, Pro vs. GI Joe is Government Video’s Website of the Week.
