During 2010, about 785,000 Americans had a new coronary attack, and about 470,000 had a recurrent attack. In addition, at least one American will die every minute from heart disease, making that the leading cause of death in the United States. To focus attention on that ailment, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has created the website “February is American Heart Month.”
February is American Heart Month provides facts on coronary heart disease under such heading as: “Diseases and Conditions That Put Your Heart at Risk” and “Know Your Signs and Symptoms.” It also provides information on ways to reduce the risk of heart disease, which can be found under the heading “Healthy Lifestyle: Diet and Nutrition, Exercise and Fitness.”
For seeking to educate Americans about heart disease, February is American Heart Month is Government Video’s Website of the Week.
