C-SPAN is a well-known cable channel that is devoted to providing access to the political process. While it is famous for its gavel-to-gavel coverage of Congressional debates and hearings, it also seeks to further educate the public through its American History TV (AHTV) channel.
Each weekend from 8 a.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Monday, AHTV broadcast programs providing insight and analysis of the events that shaped the United States. That programming is also available—at any time—on C-SPAN’s AHTV website. The programming is diverse and covers such topics as President Kennedy’s relationship with the press; to the “worst” Supreme Court decisions; to what motivated U.S.-born Mildred Gillars to betray her country as “Axis Sally”.
For providing learned history programming that analyzes and informs, C-SPAN’s AHTV website is Government Video’s Website of the Week.
