Gepner Named Vitec Divisional Boss

Vitec Group, the U.K.-based provider of numerous broadcast-related products, has appointed Jerry Gepner to the post of Divisional CEO for the Vitec Services Division.

Jerry Gepner Having joined the Group in 2005 as CTO, Gepner most recently held the position of Interim President for Bexel, a broadcast equipment provider in the United States and key brand of the Services Division.

Gepner brings over 20 years experience in the broadcast engineering and production industries. “Jerry is a key member of our senior executive team, and under his leadership, our Services Division can expect a renewed vision that is focused on technical excellence, creative solutions for our customers and quality of service that parallels and reflects all Vitec Group products,” said Stephen Bird, CEO of Vitec Group. “We are very pleased to have him on our team.”

Prior to joining Vitec Group, Gepner served as president of National Mobile Television (NMT). He has also held the position of executive vice president for Fox Sports and was co-founder and COO of Sportvision, the technology company that created the “virtual first down line” for football telecasts and other well-known computer graphic enhancements for live sports telecasts.

Gepner has been the recipient of five Emmy Awards, the 1998 Digiglobe Award from Deutsche Telekom, the 2003 Broadcasting All-Star Award and is a named inventor on 11 U.S. patents in the fields of television production and virtual imaging.
