Extron Electronics, a manufacturer of professional audiovisual system integration products, introduced its VN-Matrix 250 encoders and decoders, which provide real-time streaming, recording and playback of high resolution HDCP-compliant HDMI, DVI or RGB video across Internet protocol networks.
The VN-Matrix 250 Series accepts HDMI and RGB signals at resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 and 2048 x 1080, and streams video and audio over an IP network, preserving the native-source resolution of digital or analog video, Extron said.
In addition, stereo analog audio and HDMI-embedded audio signals are both supported, providing compatibility with embedded display speakers or existing audio systems, according to the company.
VN-Matrix 250 Series encoders and decoders use the PURE3 codec, which provides a combination of bit-rate efficiency, low latency, visually lossless image quality, and a high immunity to network errors, the firm said.
“When designing Extron’s new VN-Matrix 250 products for streaming HDMI, we capitalized on years of experience with our high-performance VN-Matrix products,” said Casey Hall, Extron’s vice president of sales and marketing.
“The VN-Matrix 250 Series stands out from other streaming products with fully HDCP-compliant streaming and a variety of new capabilities, which provide solutions for real-time streaming and distance collaboration applications,” he said.
