Unit’s simplified installation cuts time and cost

Extron Electronics introduces the CS 1226T “SpeedMount Ceiling Speaker System,” a two-piece, ceiling-tile speaker system.
The SpeedMount speaker system features a design that simplifies ceiling-speaker installation, thereby delivering time and cost savings, Extron says.
The two-piece system consists of the CS 120P building-space rated enclosure and a CS 26T two-way speaker cartridge, according to the company. The CS 120P enclosure is directly added onto the ceiling grid without the need for a tile bridge, a C-ring or tile rails, Extron says. Signal wiring is then routed to the enclosure, the firm adds.
That method of installation reduces time and costs during the rough-in period, and an audiovisual technician can later complete the installation by connecting the CS 26T speaker cartridge to the wiring, Extron says.
“Installing ceiling speakers is often a laborious and time-consuming process involving several speaker parts, the CS 1226T is just two pieces which makes installation much quicker and simpler,” says Casey Hall, Extron’s vice president of sales and marketing.
