Extron Electronics, a manufacturer of professional audiovisual system integration products, says its HDMI input and output cards that add HDMI connectivity and HDCP compliance to the Extron Quantum Elite Videowall Processing System are available.

Those cards enable the presentation of Blu-ray Disc, digital satellite or cable and other HDCP-encrypted sources on HDCP-compliant displays, Extron says. The Quantum HDMI input cards accept two HDMI inputs at resolutions up to 1920x1200 and HDTV 1080p/60, the firm says.

The Quantum HDMI output cards include two HDMI outputs for driving two videowall displays at resolutions up to 1920x1200 and HDTV1080p/60, and display up to 128 windows per output card, Extron says. The input and output cards feature high performance scaling technology to optimize real-time image processing and ensure high quality image presentation on videowall displays, says Extron. The Quantum Connect videowall processor is also available in HDCP-compliant system configurations, the company adds.

“We’ve developed new HDMI input and output options for Quantum systems in response to the growing demand for AV integrators to create videowalls that present Blu-ray, digital satellite, or other HDCP-encrypted sources,” says Casey Hall, Extron’s vice president of sales and marketing. “This new HDMI input and output capability solves the complexity of managing and presenting HDCP-encrypted content over multiple displays. Integration-friendly features include immediate visual indication of non-HDCP compliant displays and key minder that continuously authenticates HDCP-compliant devices to ensure quick and reliable switching in professional AV environments.”

The Quantum Elite and Quantum Connect are videowall processing systems that deliver multi-image presentations in demanding, mission-critical environments, Extron says. Those cards feature high performance, dedicated graphics and video processing, plus a high-speed video bus that maintains real-time performance under heavy input loading.

In addition, the Quantum Elite and Quantum Connect can simultaneously display hundreds of source windows of high quality graphics and video, and the Quantum Series supports videowall system sizes from small to very large environments, including public spaces, corporate buildings, surveillance, visualization and command and control.
