Extron Electronics, a producer of professional audiovisual system integration products, debuts the DTP T USW 233, a three-input switcher designed to send HDMI or analog video, audio and control up to 230 feet over a single CATx cable to an Extron DTP 230 receiver.
The DTP T USW 233 is HDCP compliant and provides two HDMI inputs, a single RGBHV, or component-video, input and a single DTP 230 twisted pair output, Extron said. The DTP T USW 233 digitizes analog signals to ensure a high-quality digital video signal is transmitted to the DTP 230 receiver, according to Extron.
The switcher offers “integrator-friendly features,” such as EDID Minder, auto switching between inputs, audio-input assignment and remote powering, Extron said. Those features, plus the low-profile enclosure, make the DTP T USW 233 ideal for discreet placement in lecterns, beneath tables or in other locations, the firm said.
“Integrators and consultants are often challenged to find the ideal products that meet the connectivity requirements at the conference table or lectern,” said Casey Hall, Extron’s vice president of sales and marketing. “The DTP T USW 233 combines digital and analog AV switching with twisted pair extension into one compact product that simplifies the installation and design of most installations,” he said.
The DTP T USW 233 provides reliable switching and transmission of HDMI signals, supporting deep color up to 12-bit and embedded HD lossless audio formats, Extron said. For simplified operation, the DTP T USW 233 can automatically switch between the digital and analog sources, and the analog-audio input can be assigned to any of the three video inputs, or it can be set to follow the input switch, the company said.
The switcher includes an RS-232 and IR insertion port, enabling simultaneous transmission of bidirectional RS-232 and IR signals from a control system using the same twisted-pair cable that transmits video and audio, Extron said.
For added installation flexibility, a single external power supply can be used to remotely power the DTP T USW 233 transmitter or a DTP 230 receiver over the twisted-pair cable, the company said.
