HOUSTON, TX–With student safety around the school bus a constant concern, technologists are constantly looking at ways to help improve it. The latest new development: a 360-degree camera system to help school bus drivers see around blind spots.
As noted in this School Transportation News article, the school bus industry is testing the idea of offering camera’s on the front, rear and sides of schools buses, with a split-screen monitor to view the shots on the driver’s dashboard. It’s noted that many school district’s buses are already using rear-view cameras for backing up.
