‘DownRange’ Highlights Iraq, Afghanistan Experience on Pentagon Channel

The stories of those serving in Afghanistan and Iraq is coming to the Pentagon Channel in a new daily 15-minute newscast, "DownRange".

The new program, starting April 13, succeeds the popular "Freedom Watch Afghanistan" and "Freedom Journal Iraq" news programs currently airing by combining them into one.

Building on the successful foundation already in place, producers will ensure a solid commitment to comprehensive coverage by coordinating with military reporters, public affairs officers and commanders in the field, the Pentagon Channel said.

"DownRange" will also be available to download on the Pentagon Channel Web site, www.pentagonchannel.mil, or as a podcast via the iTunes music store.

The Pentagon Channel, the Department of Defense's satellite television channel, broadcasts military news and information for and about the 2.6 million members of the U.S. Armed Forces. It’s available on-base to more than 1.3 million service members on more than 365 military facilities worldwide. The channel is also available to the 800,000 service members and their families serving overseas in 178 countries via the American Forces Radio and Television Service (AFRTS), and reaches more than 16 million households natiowide on commercial cable and satellite.
