Discover Video, LLC, a producer of video streaming products and solutions, unveils its “Real Time Message Protocol (RTMP) Flash stream” recorder that enables users to display and record live RTMP video streams from the Internet.
RTMP Flash stream’s files are recorded in industry standard H.264 .mp4 format allowing them to be uploaded, streamed, and/or viewed on virtually any computer, Smartphone, iPad, tablet, etc., Discover Video says.
In addition to recording live RTMP/H264 audio/video streams, the DV RTMP Flash stream recorder offers several features such as optionally recording multiple smaller files of a given duration; built-in scheduler allowing users to record on unattended computers; and automatic settings for Discover Video streaming accounts.
“When doing live events, it can be absolutely essential to have a recording made for later VoD viewing or for other purposes,” said Rich Mavrogeanes, Discover Video’s president and CEO. While a user can record using DVME, it is often a good idea to have a backup recording in case something goes wrong, he said. The DV RTMP recorder uses the same bandwidth as the user’s live video player, but it records the live stream so the user has a copy of exactly what the live stream looked like to viewers, he adds.
