London — Decimator Design recently began shipping its DMON-12S, a miniature 12-to-1 multiviewer that costs less than US$2,000.
The portable DMON-12S includes 12 independent 3G/HD/SD-SDI inputs, and it supports 26 formats and variable aspect ratios. Each quadrant is independent of the others, allowing any 3G/HD/SD format of any frame rate to be displayed simultaneously. The 3G/HD/SD-SDI output and the HDMI output are linked, allowing synchronous output to two monitors. A range of multiviewer preset layouts are selectable, including customizable layouts, enabling display of any number of inputs between 1 and 12.
There are more features in development that will be available in the future as free firmware updates.
The DMON-12S incorporates a new LCD screen and button control system. This gives convenient access to the unit's features without using complicated LED/button controls, dip switches, or having to carry around a computer to change a simple setting. Ability for distance-control via USB on a Windows-based application comes as standard with all Decimator Design products.
“The DMON 12S offers the flexibility to view up to 12 independent video feeds on one screen from a standalone device, whilst supporting a host of additional features,” said Mike Wattley, sales manager at Symbiosis, a master distributor of Decimator Design products for the EMEA and Americas regions. “It’s a truly unique, cost-effective and extremely reliable device, delivered by a company with a track record of creating high-quality products.”
