SUNNYVALE, Calif. — The screens will be big and the lights will be bright at the 2018 Collegiate Sports Video Association Conference, scheduled May 14–17 in Milwaukee, where companies like Vitec will be on hand to showcase new IPTV and digital signage solutions for sports venues.
The encoding and streaming company will show off its Vitec platform, which has been upgraded with video wall functionality and certified interoperability with new content protection and DRM standards as required for IPTV deployments. The solution leverages Vitec’s common IP backbone to deliver broadcast-grade video streams and manage digital signage campaigns.
“Colleges want to offer the best game experience to their fans and affordably recreate the same level of video entertainment in their sports facilities as pro sports,” said Joe Walsh, Vitec’s sales director for sports and entertainment venues.
The 2018 CSVA Conference allows attendees to network with top video coordinators in the industry and keep up to speed with the latest trends and technologies.
Vitec will show off its EZ TV Platform, which can be used by stadiums, arenas and other sports facilities to stream high-quality live and on-demand video, create dynamically personalized content and digital signage, and deliver it over existing IP infrastructure without impacting other network services.
For example, fans at an event can watch the game and other video footage throughout the venue; in a suite in the same facility, an automatically updated electronic program guide and video-on-demand capability gives attendees access to nonlinear content that cannot be seen in homes. According to Walsh, the EZ TV Platform also offers a digital signage suite with easy-to-use signage authoring, administration, and analytics tools.
