Bob McAlpine Cobalt Digital was back at Government Video Expo this year with the featured product being a new “Quint-Split” or five-source multiviewer that’s available in either a standalone version or a card that can be used in openGear equipment trays.

Bob McAlpine, Cobalt’s executive vice president of sales and marketing, was on hand to explain all of the features and benefits of the new product, as well as to provide information on Cobalt’s complete range of gear. McAlpine, who’s been involved in broadcast and production equipment sales and marketing for many years, was also eager to offer some insight on the value of GVE to companies such as Cobalt.

“I’ve done a lot of government business over the years and it’s a very lucrative market, but you have to know who the integrators are and you have to know who the end-users are, said McAlpine. “The reason we’re here is to get to know who the end-users are and how to contact them, because the system integrators such as Raytheon or Lockheed-Martin are not going to tell you who they are. We’re looking to meet the guys from White House Communications, the FBI, the CIA, NASA, Voice of America—all of the agencies that I know who have people here.”
