Communications Engineering Inc. (CEI), an audiovisual integrator, and ShareItMobile, LLC, a software development company, have partnered to offer public, education and government (PEG) broadcasters their own branded mobile application.
The ShareItMobile app provides each broadcast property its own branded mobile application and a user-generated media website platform that will enable smartphones users to contribute photos, videos and commentary directly to a community television station for instant streaming on the Web or on mobile.
ShareItMobile can be used to engage audiences with a new media-sharing solution that streamlines the publishing and presentation of large volumes of user-submitted content with configurable role-based publishing permissions. In addition, it leverages the viral nature of social media by giving viewers many ways to share user-submitted content that they find interesting.
“We believe ShareItMobile will become a vital asset for today’s fast paced media industries,” said John Wesley Nash, CEI’s executive vice president and COO of CEI. “TV stations and other media outlets can cost-effectively leverage the power of today’s smartphones and user generated content to put their organization on the cutting edge of social media, crowdsourcing and citizen journalism.”
In addition, ShareItMobile can turn viewers into an extension of the station’s editorial team, said Mark Norris, ShareItMobile’s president. “We are pleased that CEI has added this solution to its portfolio.”
