Melville, NY–Canon USA Inc. today unveiled five new network cameras for indoor and outdoor use. All five cameras share several core technologies like the Genuine Canon Lens, a 2.1 Megapixel (1920x1080) resolution high sensitivity CMOS sensor, and Canon’s DIGIC DV III Image Processor for help with color accuracy.
Both the outdoor VB-R12VE Speed Dome Network Camera and the indoor VB-R13 Speed Dome Network Camera offer PTZ control with a 360 degree panning capability. With a 30x optical zoom for crisp images, the cams also are capable of a 120x optical zoom for low resolutions. Up to 256 preset positions and up to five tour routes can be created. The VB-R12VE camera has a weather-and vandal-resistant housing and built-in heater, and has a twin with audio and external I/O support, known as the VB-R13VE.
The indoor VB-H651V Vandal Resistant Fixed Dome Network Camera features Canon’s Remote PTRZ Adjustment function for post-installation changes to the camera’s pan, tilt, zoom and rotation positions. Its enclosure helps ensure the camera’s safety from impact and tampering. The VB-H651V camera has an auto-focus function, and for installation, a mounting plate and multiple power options like 24V AC, 12V DC and PoE.
The outdoor VB-H652LVE Infrared Vandal Resistant Fixed Dome Network Camera has four built-in IR illuminators that allow video to be captured in little to no visible light, an auto focus function, and an analog video output. Installation controls are provided for camera positioning, and power options include 24V AC, 12V DC, PoE and PoE+. The housing is vandal-resistant, water-tight, and a heating unit is optional.
The entire group of network cameras also stream in 16:9 and 4:3 resolutions and offer custom video settings for image exposure according to time of day and conditions. Other included functions are shutter speed, iris, gain, white balance, and noise reduction. The camera’s features and functionality can also be accessed through PCs, mobile phones and tablets, and all are ONVIF Profile S and Profile G conformant.
