BRS Labs, a producer of “reason-based” video surveillance behavioral recognition software, and VidSys, a provider of physical security information management (PSIM) software, have entered into a “technology partnership.”

The companies say they will continue serving the transportation, critical infrastructure, law enforcement and public safety markets by delivering technologies that provide real-time intelligence for proactive situation management.

The integration of BRS Labs’ AISight behavioral recognition software for video surveillance and VidSys’ PSIM software will provide customers with “actionable intelligence and situational awareness,” the firms say.

“Extending our strategic alliance with VidSys is a critical move, as the global public safety and security market continues to face evolving threats and challenges that demand cutting-edge solutions designed to rapidly identify, resolve and track security situations,” said John Convy, BRS Labs’ senior vice president, strategic alliances. “Together, we’re able to provide our joint customers with the critical ability to proactively identify security threats as they unfold in order to better protect people, property and assets.”

In addition, Mike O’Dea, VidSys’ vice president, partner relationships, said, “recent success with a number of joint clients in the municipal and critical infrastructure markets has highlighted the importance of having state-of-the-art video behavior analysis combined with a robust, intelligent PSIM solution to successfully identify and manage potential situations in real time.”
