AUVSI, an organization focused on unmanned systems technology, is seeking presentations on technological research in that field for inclusion in its conference program scheduled for August 2011.

AUVSI’s annual conference and exposition—“Unmanned Systems North America 2011”—is scheduled for Aug. 16-19 in Washington, D.C. The conference, which is attended by leaders and decision-makers in the industry and government, seeks to provide forums for reviewing, assessing and discussing the current state of the unmanned systems market. Therefore, AUVSI is accepting papers on technological research that drives the dynamic unmanned systems community. The deadline for submitting papers is Oct. 31, 2010.

Abstracts of the proposed paper are to be from 250-300 words long and should include a summary of the principal issues, research methods and conclusions of the paper. The technical committee will reject abstracts or papers deemed to be sales or marketing presentations of an organization’s products or capabilities. Abstracts can be submitted online.

More than one abstract may be submitted for consideration; however submissions must be made separately (one abstract per submission). Submissions must include an 150 word session description to be included in the conference program. Authors must designate a track, and a domain (air, ground, maritime, cross-domain) to help categorize the abstracts.

The abstract submitter must include a 100 word curriculum vitae of the presenter upon submission of the abstract. If selected to present, the author is responsible for ensuring that the paper is unclassified and releasable no later than July 25, 2011. Selected authors who fail to inform AUVSI that their papers are not releasable will be at risk of not being invited back to present at future AUVSI events. Time allocations for paper presentations will be 25 minutes, including questions and answers. The deadlines are:
