MAHWAH, N.J.—City Hall in Aurora, Colo., recently made some production updates and tapped Telemetrics to provide them. Among Telemetrics contributions were its RCCP-1 (Robotic Camera Control Panel) and Legislative Software to improve production capabilities in Council Chambers, meeting rooms, control rooms and the Aurora TV television station.
The RCCP-1 features a single, integrated control surface for unified command over camera robotics and camera shading. It also allows access to all controls to broadcast cameras. With it, users can create a seating chart of the Chamber through a GUI touch screen, and then the shots can be customized to frame the speaker also through the touch screen. Additional features include prioritized camera assignments and control of the Ross Xpression CG to have speakers’ names appear on screen.
The LGS Legislative Software is designed for use with the RCCP-1 and enables a single operator to produce live legislative and corporate meeting video content. The software enables users to caption seats, prioritize cameras and set up shots in advance.
In City Hall, the Telemetrics gear controls five Grass Valley LDX Compact 80 HD cameras in the main council chamber. An additional RCCP-1 runs the Grass Valley HD cameras installed in the Aurora Meeting Room.
The installation process, which included a transition from SD to HD for City Hall, took four months.
