COLORADO SPRINGS, CO–The Air Force Academy’s Center for Character and Leadership Development has deployed Vitec’s EZ TV IPTV system to deliver live and on-demand streaming content to its students. The schools, a 45,000 square-foot learning space for the school’s cadets, installed the system with a minimal amount of wiring, along with support for future additional inputs or outputs and a variety of programming.
The Vitec IPTV systems takes inputs from the CCLD department director’s conference room, a Blu-ray player, training videos, a camera and mic feed from the auditorium and satellite and cable feeds. The signals are distributed to five 65-inch flat panel displays in the building’s hallways, 10 collaboration rooms used for two-way video conferencing and 10 conference room displays with set-top boxes.
The EZ TV platform supports MPEG-1/2/4, H.264 and H.265 for live and on-demand streams. Video assets and distribution streams have the option to be secured with AES 256/128-bit encryption and Microsoft Active Directory is integrated into the IPTV platform so administrators can select users. A real-time dashboard also exists for analytics on consumption, user activity and network bandwidth utilization.
